Welcome to Heavy Hauler Outdoor Gear and Mayhem Decoys. It started in a basement apartment over 20 yrs ago while working in outdoor retail, I realized there was a gap in the lanyard assortment, after a couple phone calls and drawings the first protoypes were in hand. The small “retail worker” bank account and income backed the business and within a year they were in 1 store, within 3 they were in all of the largest outdoor retail stores. Tagging and bagging individual items was a daily occurrence and continues today.
Now, over 20 years later it’s a thrill to look back and see the products that have been developed, retailers HH and Mayhem has worked with and the industry brands I’ve developed products for. New ideas come up every year, only a few make it, as long as the ideas keep coming you’ll likely see some of them in stores and on the website.
HH and Mayhem Decoys continues to be a single family operation and will be as such until no longer possible, orders as small as 1 box and as large as multiple containers are handled every year. The competitive attitude that has carried the brands this long still exists, many thanks to the family, friends, and dedicated staff members that have helped and stayed close over the years. I doubt this would have happened without the countless FREE hours others have given up stuffing plastic bags, stapling header cards, and taping boxes.
